Blueberry School Gives Back!

Caring Kids - Dana Newby grade 3 class

Neighbourlink Parkland would like to thank the grade three class at Blueberry School for their generous donation.  We are thrilled to know that this young group of children worked to hard to raise funds for our agency.  Donating to Neighbourlink is donating directly to needy in our community.  It is exciting to see how this school has come together to be active in their community.  These children are our future and they care about others that are less fortunate and together with their teachers have made a difference.

Growing Impact

Bill & Rose Almdal

Being “Good News to Our Community” is nothing new to those who call Stony Plain Alliance Church (SPAC) home.  It has been part of our culture for 80 years. Those who know Bill and Rose Almdal would agree that they have embodied this aspect of our vision in extraordinary ways over their 17 years at SPAC. Bill has filled a number of roles in a variety of local community organizations and Rose recently began a ministry in Zihuatanejo, Mexico teaching mothers who live at the dump how to sew. They are always looking for ways, here and abroad, to connect local churches to the needs of their surrounding community. One of their deep passions over the past decade has been their involvement with Neighbourlink Parkland. SPAC has supported Neighbourlink over the years through our provision of financial donations, volunteers, gifts in kind and in a directorial role. As a faith-based, non-profit organization represented by various Tri-Region churches, Neighbourlink serves people from all walks of life who have exhausted all other resources and are in need of immediate support. These supports come in the forms of assistance with rent and utility bills, gas and meal cards, rides to doctors and other appointments, furniture, companionship and emergency medical assistance, among other things. Beyond the member churches, Neighbourlink receives funding through grant programs, local government support, the Salvation Army and donations from local individuals and businesses. As economic struggles continue to affect our community and our province, and as the need and the complexity of the need grows, SPAC remains committed to supporting Neighbourlink Parkland with time, donations, leadership and prayer. Bill and Rose continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community and abroad. If you would like to join them in compassionately reaching out to those experiencing their greatest time of need, check out www.neighbourlinkparkland.ca. They would also love to tell you more about what being Good News to Our Community means to them.
